Whether you want to just top up your tan relaxing by the pool or go exploring there are plenty of things to keep you occupied in and around El Campello, below are just a few of the many things on offer...

El Campello Itself:

El Campello is a typical Spanish seaside town with many seaview restaurants, ice cream parlours and bars. It has a beautiful esplanade to stroll along and a marina where you can buy freshly caught fish.

You can watch the fishing boats coming in at the Marina and buy the fish fresh from the market alongside in late afternoon. Also overlooking the Marina is The Watch Tower, built in 1554 to defend the inhabitants from raids by the Barbary pirates and there is an archaeological site over 3,500 years old.

On 16th July the sailors pay their respects to their patron saint la Virgen del Carmen with a well-loved maritime procession and fireworks. Between 9th October and 15th October there are Moors and Christians Festivals, very noisy but great fun. Throughout the high season there are many open air entertainments, free to all.

In the high season you can catch the glass bottom boat to Tabarca Island and have a fantastic fish lunch or explore the village, take a stroll around the island, or just sunbathe. A ferry also runs North to Benidorm or South to Alicante.

Beaches:

The sandy Venta Lanuza beach is the nearest beach to El Poblet and is only a 20 minute walk. It has beautiful sandy shores and a bar.

The old fishing village of El Campello boasts one of the best beaches in the area and is over 4km long. It has plenty of room for ball games and also offers disabled access.

Golf:

Bonalba Golf Club: Stunning views are part of the package with this 18-hole golf course. Situated on the outskirts of Alicante City at the back of the golden sands of San Juan beach, the course can be enjoyed all year round.

Home to many professional competitions including the Costa Blanca Challenge, the European Challenge Tour and The First Round of the National Professional Golf Circuit it attracts over 60,000 players each year. With a slope rating of 132 on the yellow bars, players can gauge how challenging it might be.

Overall the variety to the course ensures plenty of interest and the wide fairways and palm trees ensure a pleasant environment. Open all year, the course has a driving range (covered and uncovered), 3 putting greens, a chipping area and 2 practice bunkers. Clubs can be hired and private lessons can be enjoyed in English, French and Spanish.

Water Parks:

Aqualandia (Benidorm) is the largest water park in Costa Blanca, and with over 20 rides and areas it has something for everyone. It's big enough to spend the whole day and is fun way to relax or cool down.
